Netflix confirmed with ANN on Wednesday that The Seven Deadly Sins: Revival of The Commandments(Nanatsu no Taizai Imashime no Fukkatsu), the second television anime series based on Nakaba Suzuki’s The Seven Deadly Sins manga, will premiere on Netflix in October. By the end of next month, Netflix will announce the series’ exact premiere date.
The series premiered in Japan in January with 24 episodes.
The first 24-episode television anime series aired in 2014 and 2015. Netflix later streamed the series with both English and Japanese audio, and Funimation released the series in two parts on home video. A four-episode television anime special titled The Seven Deadly Sins -Signs of Holy War- then premiered in August 2016. Netflix began streaming the series in February 2017.
The manga also inspired the anime film Gekijōban Nanatsu no Taizai: Tenkū no Torawarebito (The Seven Deadly Sins the Movie: Prisoners of the Sky) that opened in Japan on August 18. As of August 26, the film has earned a cumulative total of 427,180,300 yen (about US$3.84 million).
The manga’s 34th volume is bundling an original anime DVD on November 14.
